Public Transport

I take the bus several times a week, whether it’s to work, to get out on the weekends, or just to breathe in some fresh air. The bus ride can feel surprisingly calming; it gives me time to look around and get lost in thought. In my quiet town, it’s one of the few ways I get to see different faces.

Some of these people I see often; we’re on the same commute but get off at different stops. Others are complete strangers I may never cross paths with again—though who knows, it’s a small world.

This mix of familiar faces and fleeting encounters inspired this project. Is there anything more “street photography” than people waiting for a bus, stretching their legs, or even dozing off in their seats? Each one has their own story, and for a few minutes, we’re all in the same space.
